چکیده

Aim: The opening of mitochondrial permeability transition (mPT) pore is an important event in the execution mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis. Some bioactive compounds elicit their chemotherapeutic effects against tumor/cancer cells via induction Annona muricata, a medicinal plant, folklorically used treatment tumors and cancers. This study therefore aimed at investigating effect methanol stem bark extract muricata (MEAM) on apoptosis mPT estradiol benzoate (EB)-induced proliferative disorder using female Wistar rats.
Methodology: Mitochondria were isolated differential centrifugation. opening, cytochrome c release ATPase activity determined spectrophotometrically. levels estrogen (E2), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating (FSH), malondialdehyde (MDA) activities superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH), ELISA technique. Histological histochemical assessments uterine sections carried out standard methods. Phytochemical constituents MEAM Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS).
Results: vitro results showed significant enhancement (mATPase) concentration-dependent manner. However, oral administration did not induce rat neither any nor mATPase dosages used. Interestingly, reversed EB-induced increase E2, LH FSH. also improved antioxidant milleu by reducing MDA level increasing SOD GSH-Px groups. Administration EB induced endometrial hyperplasia model group which was mitigated group. GC-MS analysis revealed presence some phytochemicals that are pharmacological relevant cancer treatment.
 Conclusions: suggests contains protect rats.

Hepatoprotective activity of Annona muricata Linn. and Polyalthia cerasoides bedd.

The hepatoprotective effect of Annona muricata and Polyalthia cerasoides (Annonaceae) were monitored by estimating the serum transaminases (SGOT and SGPT), serum alkaline phosphatase (SALP), liver and brain lipid peroxidation (LOP) and their total protein content. Both drugs at a dose of 100 μg/kg significantly prevented the increase in serum transaminases, SALP, liver and brain LOP and decreas...

Protective role of Annona squamosa linn bark extracts in DMBA induced genotoxicity.

BACKGROUND There has been no dearth of scientific literature that genotoxic agents have a causative effect in the pathogenesis of carcinomas. 7,12 dimethylbenz(a)anthracene (DMBA), which is a potent organ specific carcinogen, has been found to produce mutagenic effects on cells. Annona squamosa has a long history in traditional Indian medicine for being used to treat several diseases including ...

Adrenomedullin protects rat dorsal root ganglion neurons against doxorubicin-induced toxicity by ameliorating oxidative stress

Objective(s): Despite effective anticancer effects, the use of doxorubicin (DOX) is hindered due to its cardio and neurotoxicity. The neuroprotective effect of adrenomedullin (AM) was shown in several studies. The present study aimed to evaluate the possible protective effects of AM against DOX-induced toxicity in dorsal root ganglia (DRGs) neurons. M...
